shiflett brothers sculpting challenge: monster rider

Here's the work so far. The idea was to have the human be "the monster" and the other creatures are the riders.here's the teaser text:
================================
Are your humans running around unsupervised?
Are they destroying your towns and forests without consequence?

Then mrRuben's Monster Rider 3126 is exactly what you are looking for. Available now for only 99,95 P*

*P = pieces of gold.
* rig is handmade from solid tree trunks by mrRuben's finest craftsmen (aka lumber jacks).
* red glow on the commander is not from shame that you can see his naked parts. It's caused by a badly cleansed brush being used for his yearly bath.
================================
I have started painting the master. The minion has a primer layer because it was complety baked black. the 'ropes' have metal painted balls so the minion can easily hold on and pull on them. The side anchors by the minions legs should be (painted in) metal so it can wrap the side ropes around them to hold them in place.

to do:
- The legs of the chair need to be shorter because now his head touches the balcony.
- The ropes of rig need to be painted to look nicer.
- Some nice piercings should be designed and made
- finish painting of the commander, minion and rig.

here are all the pic's:

new sculpting challenge...

as a quick start to the new sculpting challenge at the clubhouse I started work on this 'brain' from pinky and the brain.

based on this picture: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzkGyRn48nLsDeempZto_oRNk7gExgDr0kyfBuVq8l20MHfDm-cl_n2c31hgcdq8ki_98mWD-lybRV1jvb9IJTr1DqmDAEi40j8sZEfItPzS7jfXtEKUIrAQLjfVF_goYHZXn_T36q-9A/s400/goodman02_PinkyBrain-01.jpg

iron man... the demise ???

Disaster struck this project. after detecting what seemed to be some type of mold I decided not to cover it with plastic on top of the wet towel. the result... the wet towel dried out a whole lot faster which end in disaster.

see for youself:

I'm afraid this will be the end of iron man, or at least in this form. BUT, I recently bought a styrofoam head, which will be the next starting point for this. it think I'll start from a plaster base now. So that at least the proportions are correct from the start.

portrait sculpt... nr 1.

Ok, long time since my last post. Here's my first real attempt at a likeness. unfortunatly the person this is based on wouldn't allow me to post a reference picture. So you'll have to do with pictures of the sculpture. The head is about 5cm which is aprox. 1/6 scale I presume.

enjoy....

ravenlord

alright folks, I've been saving this one until it was (nearly) finished. this latest piece was started for a sculping jam over at the clubhouse forum.

the wings are new and they still aren't attached yet that is why I'm holding them in the pictures.

base of mutation... paint job

ok so, here's an update on the base. started painting, not really sure where to go from here. any advice or tips would be greatly apreciated. I'm thinking of adding some bloody colors on the base and using a glossy varnish on the critter to get that - i just got all my skin ripped off - kinda feel.

here are the pic's in different lighting:
