why make one chess set, when you can make two?

When I was working on the previous chess set, I got the idea of making a square and round set... and so here's the start:

new sculpting challenge...

as a quick start to the new sculpting challenge at the clubhouse I started work on this 'brain' from pinky and the brain.

based on this picture: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzkGyRn48nLsDeempZto_oRNk7gExgDr0kyfBuVq8l20MHfDm-cl_n2c31hgcdq8ki_98mWD-lybRV1jvb9IJTr1DqmDAEi40j8sZEfItPzS7jfXtEKUIrAQLjfVF_goYHZXn_T36q-9A/s400/goodman02_PinkyBrain-01.jpg

chessset ... creating a new board.

It's been a while since I posted something and even longer since I worked on the chess set. So with new energy I decided to create new board as well. this one will be one solid piece (unlike the previous one, that you can fold up).

materials are whitewood, hardwood and a lot of glue :)

here are some pictures.
the raw materials:

cut and glued:

all dry the next morning:

sanded down nice smooth:

next steps:
- cutting the board to glue the strips on.
- cutting the edges for the board
- glueing it all together
- finishing touches.
